ROLO-VER BEETHOVEN

Can you say ROLO? It's even smaller than a Reeses cupcake topper! I used it for the caramel drizzled cupcake - bottom photo - bottom right. (Note to Thimbleanna - I'm taking my cue from you!)

This is Frannie's sewing box (ME of course). Not much happening in there at the moment. I did make those two pincushions for her.

Another day, another box of cupcakes. (Sigh)

I'd like more ideas for "foodie" cupcake toppers - won't you please share?

WHAT'S NEW PUSSYCAT?

Okay, time's up. Frannie and I are in the counting room counting our money, I mean Conversation Hearts. We'll be back a little later to give you the tally. While you're waiting, here are a couple of Valentine pillowcases I've made. I'm another one of those who loves the aqua and red combo.

Be back soon.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

YES SIR, THAT'S MY BABY

Here's daddy with his baby.

My mother, son, Frannie and myself took Frank (my husband) here to celebrate Father's Day - Stamford, CT. We ate dinner Al Fresco. Then we had a down pour, but it was okay, there was a roof overhead.

After dinner, it was decided that we needed cupcakes for dessert.

So we went here - A new Crumbs Bakeshop in Westport, CT.

Frannie and daddy picked out the cupcakes - they were big enough to share.

And if you give a man a cupcake, he's going to want a cup of coffee to go with it.

Rubber Ducky, you're the one!

Rubber Ducky, I'm so awfully fond of you!
Boop-Boop-A-Doop

Hostess

Creamy filling - very Crisco-ish with some sugar mixed in.
Hey, if that's what you like.

This little guy's coming home with us.

Earlier in the day Frannie and I stopped at Knitting Central - Westport, CT. Frannie helped by winding up a ball of sock yarn. Hand-dyed and very soft.

Friday evening, Tom Jones was in town, but we didn't have tickets. So we took a ride near the outdoor concert just to have a listen. He sounded GREAT! After, Frannie could be seen at Crumbs Bakeshop (twice in one weekend!) - but her pick this time had been her very favorite - Red Velvet!

Hmmm... Not Bad!

MY FUNNY VALENTINE

MY FUNNY VALENTINE
YOU'RE MY FAVORITE WORK OF ART
STAY, LITTLE VALENTINE, STAY
EACH DAY IS VALENTINE'S DAY

Another from the archives. Large oval paper mache box. Painted Folk Art Baby Pink and decoupaged with Mary Engelbreit Valentines. Crepe paper ruffle on bottom. Again, Mary Engelbreit border around lid. Top has large slit decorated with polka-dots and Be Mine letters. Love it!

Tissue paper nosegay sits next to the Valentine box.

Now, I know I usually just put some lyrics here, but ladies and gentlemen, THIS IS TOM JONES! Just have to have a video. Ladies, get your panties ready! :)

P.S. If you ever get the chance to see Tom Jones live, grab those tickets, FAST! He puts on the greatest show. My husband and I have seen him three times so far and we'd go again in an instant. Last time, we brought our son, David, with us (he was probably about 14 years old at the time) - even he enjoyed it. We had third row, center seats at the Stamford Palace Theatre (one of those old refurbished theaters and there isn't a bad seat in the house). David had the pleasure of sitting next to Paul Schaeffer (you know, the orchestra leader for David Letterman). We've seen The Beach Boys and Johnny Cash there as well. Next time we go, I've got to bring Frannie with us, she'd love it!

BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!

HEY, THIMBLEANNA, COME ON DOWN!
Okay ladies, here's your chance to win your very own bead-knitted purse. Take a look at those four pictured on the right - that's right - you could be the lucky winner - except that yours will be made out of crystal clear beads and white thread (I'm thinking ice and snow). I'm also going to add a little charm to the side, but I haven't decided which one yet. You know you want one! (Even Jennifer Paganelli and Martha Stewart are the proud owners of one.)

Here's what you have to do to enter:

1. Leave a comment telling me what your New Year's resolution is. You must state a resolution or you won't be entered. If you don't have one, make one up.

2. If you don't have a blog, you must leave an e-mail address so you can be notified if you win, otherwise, you won't be entered.

3. Open to U.S./Canada residents only.

4. Keep it FUN!

Now go on over to the Whirl Into Winter giveaway event hosted by Quilting With Debi and enter all those other contests. On January 15th, at 8:00 PM eastern time, Frannie (who else?) will pick the winner.

You know I'm a sucker for a good song, so here are the lyrics to Baby It's Cold Outisde (my favorite version is with Tom Jones and Marianne Faithful):

BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE
Words and music by Frank Loesser
As Performed By Tom Jones

I really can't stay
But baby, it's cold outside
I've got to go away
Ah, baby, it's cold outside
This evening has been
Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice
I'll hold your hands,
they're just like ice
My mother will start to worry
Beautiful, what's your hurry
My father will be pacing the floor
Listen to that fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry
Oh beautiful, please don't hurry
Maybe just a half a drink more
Why don't you put some
records on while I pour
The neighbors might think
Oh baby, it's bad out there
Say, what's in this drink
There's no cabs to be had out there
I wish I knew how
Your eyes are like starlight now
To break this spell
I'll take your hat,
your hair looks swell
I ought to say no, no, no, sir
Mind if I move a little closer
At least I'm gonna say that I tried
What's the sense of hurting my pride
I really can't stay
Baby don't hold out
Ahh, but it's cold outside
I simply must go
Oh, baby, it's cold outside
The answer is no
You know it's cold outside
This welcome has been
I'm lucky that you dropped in
So nice and warm
Look out the window at that storm
My sister will be suspicious
Oh, your lips look delicious
My brother will be there at the door
Like waves upon a tropical shore
My maiden aunt's mind is vicious
Eww, your lips are delicious
Well maybe just a cigarette more
Never such a blizzard before
I've got to go home
Ah, baby, you would freeze out there
Say, lend me a comb
You know it's up to your knees out there
You've really been grand
I thrill when you touch my hand
But don't you see
How can you do this thing to me
There's bound to be talk tomorrow
Making my life long sorrow
At least there will plenty implied
If you caught pneumonia and died
I really can't stay
Get over that old out
Ah but it's cold outside

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
