BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!

HEY, THIMBLEANNA, COME ON DOWN!
Okay ladies, here's your chance to win your very own bead-knitted purse. Take a look at those four pictured on the right - that's right - you could be the lucky winner - except that yours will be made out of crystal clear beads and white thread (I'm thinking ice and snow). I'm also going to add a little charm to the side, but I haven't decided which one yet. You know you want one! (Even Jennifer Paganelli and Martha Stewart are the proud owners of one.)

Here's what you have to do to enter:

1. Leave a comment telling me what your New Year's resolution is. You must state a resolution or you won't be entered. If you don't have one, make one up.

2. If you don't have a blog, you must leave an e-mail address so you can be notified if you win, otherwise, you won't be entered.

3. Open to U.S./Canada residents only.

4. Keep it FUN!

Now go on over to the Whirl Into Winter giveaway event hosted by Quilting With Debi and enter all those other contests. On January 15th, at 8:00 PM eastern time, Frannie (who else?) will pick the winner.

You know I'm a sucker for a good song, so here are the lyrics to Baby It's Cold Outisde (my favorite version is with Tom Jones and Marianne Faithful):

BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE
Words and music by Frank Loesser
As Performed By Tom Jones

I really can't stay
But baby, it's cold outside
I've got to go away
Ah, baby, it's cold outside
This evening has been
Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice
I'll hold your hands,
they're just like ice
My mother will start to worry
Beautiful, what's your hurry
My father will be pacing the floor
Listen to that fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry
Oh beautiful, please don't hurry
Maybe just a half a drink more
Why don't you put some
records on while I pour
The neighbors might think
Oh baby, it's bad out there
Say, what's in this drink
There's no cabs to be had out there
I wish I knew how
Your eyes are like starlight now
To break this spell
I'll take your hat,
your hair looks swell
I ought to say no, no, no, sir
Mind if I move a little closer
At least I'm gonna say that I tried
What's the sense of hurting my pride
I really can't stay
Baby don't hold out
Ahh, but it's cold outside
I simply must go
Oh, baby, it's cold outside
The answer is no
You know it's cold outside
This welcome has been
I'm lucky that you dropped in
So nice and warm
Look out the window at that storm
My sister will be suspicious
Oh, your lips look delicious
My brother will be there at the door
Like waves upon a tropical shore
My maiden aunt's mind is vicious
Eww, your lips are delicious
Well maybe just a cigarette more
Never such a blizzard before
I've got to go home
Ah, baby, you would freeze out there
Say, lend me a comb
You know it's up to your knees out there
You've really been grand
I thrill when you touch my hand
But don't you see
How can you do this thing to me
There's bound to be talk tomorrow
Making my life long sorrow
At least there will plenty implied
If you caught pneumonia and died
I really can't stay
Get over that old out
Ah but it's cold outside

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The purses are absolutely goregous! I can't knit worth a darn let alone do it with beads. I have several New Year's resolutions and one of them is to concentrate more on my needlework and sewing and to finally get those projects done that I've been wanting to make for--years! I'm even putting together a basket full of "kits" of these projects, so I can pull one out and just start. That's always the hard part--just starting. I have other resolutions too that I've listed on my blog and I've tried to keep them reasonable, so I can actually accomplish them--I hope! LOL! Thank you for such an awesome offering for your giveaway and Happy New Year!

Oh, my, you bet I would love to have one of your beaded purses. And made in crystal beads as if it were ice!! How cool!! So here's my resolution. It's two part - first part is to give myself a "sabbatical of sorts" in January and February and work on projects just for me. I love to volunteer but need to focus on unpacking boxes from our move two years ago, projects I want to finish, etc. The second part is to continue volunteering but realize that it's okay to say no and set boundaries. Planning to stick to both of these so that 2009 is a great year! And it would be really great if I could carry around my spare change in that divine little beaded bag!!

I didn't make a NY resolution but since you told me to make one up (and enouraged fibbing lol), I will. I'm working on finishing 13 quilts that are in the top stage. The quilting throws me over the edge but I have a Juki and a friend with a longarm so I hate the thought of paying someone to quilt them for me. That's my goal. I hope to have a few done and gave myself til June.
