ANGELS WATCHING OVER ME

A beautiful, vintage angel.

I made this one years ago. It's counted cross-stitch.

Tree topper for the last 29 years. A gift from my sister.

Lots of tulle. I love her.

Hand made out of wood with a scroll saw (I think). Gift from co-worker (her dad made it).

Blurry, but a real cutie.

Beautiful. A gift from my son.

So very delicate. Another gift from my son.

When I was a young girl, my sisters and I used to sing together, especially while riding in the back seat of our parents' car. We liked to sing in rounds, and these angels reminded me of one my most favorite songs to sing with them.

ANGELS WATCHING OVER ME

All day, all night,
Angels watching over me, my Lord.
All day, all night,
Angels are watching over me.

Sun is setting in the West;
Angels watching over me, my Lord.
Come now child, and take your rest;
While angels are watching over me.

All day, all night,
Angels watching over me, my Lord.
All day, all night,
Angels are watching over me.

Now I lay me down to sleep,
Angels watching over me, my Lord.
Pray the Lord my soul to keep,
while Angels are watching over me

S.W.A.K.
SO MANY GREAT RESOLUTIONS!

My mom still puts my four-eyed paper angel on her tree that I made in scouts. Let me explain the 4 eyes... I liked to work ahead and I put the face on my angel with the first set of eyes a bit too high. They failed to tell me we would be putting cotton on as hair, which covered my first set of eyes. So I put on the hair and drew another set of eyes on the angel. I think I made it was I was 5.

After 30 years, my mom is still putting it on her tree. Front and center too.

Gotta love Moms.

I'm one of the sister that Marsha used to sing in the car with.

I sang that song to my son when he was little to "encourage" him to go to sleep. I didn't remember all the words though. I guess I should have called Marsha!

Hi!
Thank you for stopping by!
Angels are so wonderful to collect and you have a very nice collection with a lot of meaning! My fav is the cross stitching angel that you made. I remember when cross stitching was all of the rage! I loved it!

With Kindness,
Mary
